Thank you to The Don Lemon Show for inviting me to join a conversation about how people are guided by their values more than their physical characteristics. Our values are informed by the range of cultural influences we experience starting from our earliest moments. As we navigate divisiveness, it’s essential to understand how these cultural influences (basically a shared set of attitudes, beliefs, values, mindsets, and practices of a group of people) impact our unique individual perspective. Whether in business, our communities, or society-at-large, we’re more likely to create beneficial and cooperative outcomes if we focus on the values we have in common rather than focus on the physical characteristics which may separate us.
